Somervell, General Brehon
1892–1955
   Somervell served as US Commanding General of Army Service Forces from 1942 until the end of the war and as a Presidential adviser. He was involved in problems of mobilization and war production and attended all major planning meetings. He was responsible during the war for supplies, equipment and for the allocation of resources.
